Up to now your main city should be recruiting defensive military units in groups of 1000. Your 2nd City should be producing resources at a rapid rate and passing them to your main city. Your Gold production should be over 1k p/h. Now it is time to build your third city and I will share what I have done, you may want to choose a different path, but I got sick of waiting hours and hours so this is my strategy.

I decided that time is a precious resource in Lord of Ultima and therefore I needed to refine the amount of time spent playing Lord of Ultima!

So, to save time in recruitment speed I upgraded all my barracks and recruitment buildings in my main city to level 10. This will also increase score, but at this stage you should have a score of between 6000 to 7000. Instead of wasting time to get a City Score of 5000 so my main city could become round.

I used this strategy, and focused on my third city which will be Castled to save time of purifying:

1. Upgraded Town Hall as Fast as Possible aiming for level 9
2. Built a few Iron Mines and Woodcutter Huts but built more Stone Mines (needed for walls)
3. Built lots of cottages did not upgrade resources past level 5, instead upgraded cottages quicky
4. Got Construction Speed to 1 300 by upgrading cottages to level 7
5. Forgot to mention all resources where coming from my main and 2nd city

Once my city was running at speed I started the next phase:

1. Built a Stable Upgraded to level 10
2. Built Four Barracks around the stable with a view to upgrade to level 10
3. Built a Training Ground with four Barracks around it view to upgrade to level 10
4. Upgraded Wall with a view to upgrade to level 10
5. Built Towers and Traps as per defense strategy upgraded to level 10
6. Lastly built Castle

Instead of purifying excess resources I traded them to my gold supplies up which was needed at my first city, to keep up recruitment of units. Also, started recruiting armies of 1000 in my third city starting with scouts, only once I had a sizable army did I build the Castle.

Before you decide to build a castle in your third city speak to your alliance and make sure your first and 2nd cities are producing enough resources and have a strong enough defense to support your third city (castle)
