How to Attack a City Lord of Ultima

Attacking in Lord of Ultima

Before attacking in Lord of Ultima check with your alliance, once you have attacked a city you will be on the radar! I suggest using the BOS tool it is a great tool to check out your territory and planning your army.

Before thinking of an attack you need to have built up an attacking army, many players make the mistake of using defensive units instead of offensive units.Another point to consider is what type of attack in Lord of Ultima you choose. (See Article Offensive Units)

There are four types of attack in Lord of Ultima:

1. Scout Attack
2. Plundering Attack
3. Assault
4. Siege

1. Scout Attack

It is a good strategy to combine a scout attack first on any city you wish to attack. By sending scouts you will get a lot of information about your enemy. You can use this information in your BOS tool calculator to plan your 2nd attack! Like in any real battle gathering of intelligence will give you the upper hand.

To scout send as many scouts possible a good number against an average city is 500, however the city you are attacking could have many scouts and towers. So, to be more effective send 1000 scouts this should get you the information you need to plan the next attack.

Once, you get the report back you will see how many units, towers and buildings the enemy city has. Feed this information into your BOS Caculator. You will then be able to plan the amount of units needed for the next type of attack.

You can scout cities with or without a Castle.

2. Plunder Attack

This is a useful attack on weak players it is intimidating and can be used against players with or without a Castle, but best to be used against players without a Castle. This attack causes little damage to the defender's defenses but you get to steal the resources.

This is also the attack to be used on lawless cities which will deplete them of any resources they once had.

The defender's gold and purified resources are protected as well as resources the defender has on the market.

3. Assault

Assault Attacks are used to weaken an enemy's defense, like with a plunder attack resources are also carried back. However the main aim of an Assault is to kill as many defensive units of the enemy an assault is geared to inflict casualties, five time more than with a plunder attack! This ratio works both ways, this type of attack is used against Castles, and your attack should be at least 5 x stronger than the enemy to be effective. Repeating assault attacks is a good strategy to give the enemy no time to rebuild its defense, combining the repeat assault attacks with the help of a few players in your alliance can certainly cause massive damage before a siege.

4. Siege Attack

This, is the ultimate attack in Lord of Ultima, here you will need to plan your attack carefully. You will certainly be sure to use this attack as the last and most vicious assault that can be used in Lord of Ultima!

A siege attack has but one purpose to take the enemy's Castle and unlike the other attacks, this attack will repeat itself every hour until the siege is successful or until all your units have been destroyed in battle!

Each siege needs to have a baron with the rest of the units, each wave (repeat siege) that is successful will weaken the enemy by 10% until the siege reaches 100%. So, be sure to send a massive army with the baron  to ensure a victory!

Once, 100% has been reached the baron will take over the city, with its buildings and resources!

When selecting the army use as many siege weapons as possible as described in the article offensive units. These can destroy towers and are need to weaken the defense of the enemy.

  1. Sieges don't need Barons.....and you can use it to destroy a castle.
